Does XHose Really Work?

The XHose claims to be an expandable garden hose with an innovative design that makes it easier and more convenient than traditional hoses. The major feature of the XHose is that it automatically expands up to 3 times its length when you turn on the water, yet when you turn the water off it contracts to its original size in seconds. This is supposed to make X-Hose, which is compatible with standard fittings, much more convenient to store. XHose is best at preventing the tangling and kinks so common with regular garden hoses. XHose is also said to be light in weight yet strong, sturdy, and built to last. It is also able to expand to a wide enough diameter to provide a high flow, high power spray. These features are said to come from the unique patent-pending design of the XHose, which consists of both a tough inner hose and a folded outer hose make from strong webbing.

XHose Reviews

No - Didn't expand

I took it out of package and turned water on and the hose didn’t expand it just stayed like that after about 30 uses of watering my garden it was finally stretching. Lastly, I have great water pressure with all other hoses and this one was horrible. Never buy it. A waste of money. [….]

No - Connections and nozzle
1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star

The hose does expand easily as promised. HOWEVER, the 5 way Nozzle attachment for the hose leaks so badly, both at the hose connection and as part of the nozzle, so much so that my clothes are wet when I finish watering. I Also purchased a 75 foot combo and that connection between the 25 and 50 foot hoses leaks badly. Finally to add insult to injury, I can not find a customer service link on this company to talk to them about these problems or request a new nozzle. It appears to be inferiorly made. Solve the leaking problems and this hose could be a fantastic idea.

Yes - My wife loves it

I have an X-Hose, and my wife loves it. We use it in the garden as well as inside. It really does grow to 3 times it’s size when we use it, and shrinks back down when we’re done. Not right away though, it takes a few minutes.

Yes - It works for me

I have had the Xhose for a month now. Use it all the time in the garden, clean the patio, clean filters, car etc. Very impressed by the quality and how easy and lightweight it is. No loss of pressure. I threw away my old hose and reel.

Yes - Great product so far

I haven’t had my Xhose very long, and I mainly use it for washing my car, which I do at least twice a week and washing down my garage floor. It works fine, I am getting ready to order another one for my back yard.

No - Doesn't allow great pressure

I don’t know what the longevity of the hose will be. It DOES expand when water goes through it, but the diameter of the hose just doesn’t allow great pressure. Would not recommend.

No - Piece of junk
1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star

First off, the quality of the hose and fittings is terrible. Under very minimal usage the hose developed pin holes and the plastic fittings eventually started to leak.

Secondly, and this is the biggest design flaw, as soon as you begin spraying water, the pressure in the hose drops, and when the pressure drops the hose starts to retract.

Lastly, out of the package the hose will not expand…you have to stretch it many times.

The commercial makes this look so awesome, but trust me, it’s a piece of garbage. Save your money and get a real non-kinking garden hose at your local home improvement store.

No - Water Pressure

This product does not deliver the same water pressure with my sprinkler that my old hose does. It does not cover the same area.
