Does Wraptastic Really Work?

Food preparation and storage is a more complicated task than it seems to be. Fortunately, modern ways of keeping food fresh has made it easier. Wraptastic, for example, is a product that dispenses wraps for food to prevent the hassles and mess caused by manual cutting of wrapping. To use, food wrap loaded in the Wraptastic is pulled up to the desired length. To cut the wrapper, the Wraptastic has a built-in stainless steel blade that is recessed for safety. Spring loaded for easy change of wrap rolls, the Wraptastic uses any type of food wrapper such as wax paper, plastic wrap, or aluminum foil. It is also portable enough to be easily stored in kitchen drawers at home and designed with a rubber base to stay in place during use.

The inserts provided for fitting a roll to the unit are too small.

Pulling plastic wrap out without the inserts deforms it worse than using the original box.

The cover must be depressed so hard to cut the wrap it locks in place and is very hard to open.

Overall, this contraption is ten times as bad as just using the original box the wrap came in.

Wraptastic just plain doesn’t work. It slides all over the counter and you must open the device every time you use it to free the foil or plastic wrap. As far as returns go they will offer you $6 not to return it. When you send it back they will sit on your return for a month while you pay interest on your credit card. [….]

I bought this product and it was sliding all over the counter. I found a fix for the feet. Now it works great. The cutting works fine on mine after I removed the safety guard.

No - Doesn't cut it.

Literally doesn’t cut it. Hold down on the top and rip the wrap loose with the resulting ragged and torn edge.

No - Do Not Purchase This Product

When attempted to use this product the feet would not hold to any surface. Also the push down lids would stick down and not pop back up without prying them back open. Cost to much to return so I did some plastic scrapping and at least got them to dispense. Good idea, but not functional.

No - Worthless

When you push the top of the Wraptastic down to cut the wrap, it does not pop back up as shown in the video. The top and bottom of the Wraptastic remain stuck together and must be pulled apart to remove the cut piece of wrap. This happened everytime I tried cutting wrap with both of the units I received.

No - Don't even consider Wraptastic

Don’t waste your money on Wraptastic! [..] They have rubber feet but they DO NOT stay place and slide on the counter when pulling the wrap. The feet are not even level and the unit rocks and does not sit flat. There is no way to pull the warp with one hand, you need two, which leaves you one hand sort to hold the Wraptastic unit from sliding!

Yes - Consder the area before ordering

When my product arrived I spent some time deciding on the most convenient area to have this item. The advertised “non slip feet” is not correct. This has hard plastic feet, which slid on the work area making wrapping more difficult.
