I purchased this blender in January of 2012 when I decided to start eating healthier & wanted to make my own smoothies at home. I could hardly wait to get it out of the box when it arrived, and I’ve made everything in it from smoothies to soups, salsa, and party drinks. It is FANTASTIC, and I have not had a single issue with it whatsoever. It still works today as it did the very day it arrived.

As another review mentioned, the size is a bit tricky – definitely too tall to fit underneath standard kitchen cabinetry, but I simply flip the lid upside down when storing it and *then* it fits perfectly.

I also recommend following the recommendations completely. DON’T put the blender in the dishwasher; your blade will dull (just like with a good set of knives) & the chrome will wash off the handle. I’ve had no issue putting the lids in the dishwasher, however.

DO used crushed iced rather than cubes, as the recommendations state.

If you keep it well maintained & use common sense when operating it, the Torpedo should last you a good while.

I bougth a Torpedo blender on May 20, 2012. At the begining the blender worked, bu not as impressive as the TV. No more than a regular one. Today, my blender doesn’t work any more. I can’t fix it because there are no replacement parts available. It is very frustating.

I went from a Hamilton beach smoothie blender to this. I wanted a vitamix, but I can’t afford it. I took a chance with this and I LOVE it! It has a big enough jar for 4 smoothies, makes the creamiest hummus I have every eaten, and it’s powerful too. I am very happy to have it. Only problem is the size. It’s too tall to go under my cupboard. Keep the height in mind when purchasing. Otherwise I recommend this. I normally shy away from as seen on tv stuff, but my Hamilton beach burned out in a month, and lost power in the first week bc of a cheap gear system.and it was the same price as this one.
