Does Tivo Really Work?
Tivo is a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) that allows a user to record shows for playback at a later time. In addition, one may use it to pause or “rewind” live TV. A Tivo “Season Pass” lets a user record all instances of a selected TV show, no matter what day or time it airs. The “Tivo Desktop” software allows one to transfer recordings from the DVR to a computer. The models currently available are Tivo Premiere, Tivo Premiere 4 and Tivo Premiere XL4. Premiere lets 2 shows to be recorded at the same time and the other models allow 4 shows to be recorded at the same time. In addition to acting as a DVR, the latest Tivo models can be used to stream Internet video from a variety of services. It offers access to several entertainment services such as Netflix, Youtube, Hulu Plus, Pandora and Amazon Instant Video. In addition, Tivo may be used to stream video to iPads and iPhones.
