Does SpotLess Turbo Washer Really Work?

Doing the laundry is twice a chore because of stains. Worse, some stain situations require an instant remedy and can’t wait for the next laundry date. This is what SpotLess Turbo Washer promises to provide a solution for. An all-in-one cleaning device that claims to be the smallest washing machine, the SpotLess Turbo Washer is said to instantly eliminate hard-to-remove stains like sauces and spilled wine in clothes using hydro-air pressure. It also protects clothes from damage as it does not make use of strong chemicals. The compat size of the SpotLess Turbo Washer allows it to fit handbags and pouches so it can be conveniently carried around. The SpotLess Turbo Washer can be used for other kinds of fabric material such as carpets and bedsheets. Also available with the SpotLess is a micro fiber cloth and a travel pouch.

Editor’s Review

I used the SpotLess Turbo Washer to clean some spots in my carpet. (I didn’t use it to remove stains from clothes so I can’t say how well that feature works.) SpotLess definitely made the stains less noticeable but it did not take them away entirely (although it came close in one case).

Instruction Guide

The SpotLess cleaner consists of four parts and how they are used will differ depending on whether you are using it to clean carpet/furniture or clothes/fabric. The instructional page that comes with the product uses drawings and text to explain this. It also includes the URL of their website, which includes an instructional video that makes things very clear.

The mini SpotLess Turbo Washer may be tucked within itself for compact storage, making it just 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) tall and 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter.

Procedure for Cleaning a Carpet

To clean a stain from a carpet, you are supposed to add 2 tablespoons of hot water and a couple of drops of detergent. You then place the SpotLess cleaner on the stain and push down several times to get pressure going through the unit. (They don’t say exactly how many times you need to pump. I pumped 3 to 4 dozen times for each stain.) You then will dry off the soap and water from the spot with a towel.

The Results

I tested the SpotLess on 3 spots. All the stains showed improvement but the amount of improvement varied. One stain was reduced so much that I need to look closely just to find where it was. The second stain is still visible but much lighter than before. The third stain showed only modest improvement.

Here is a before and after picture of the second carpet stain:

If you have an annoying spot on your carpet you want to make less visible, the SpotLess Turbo Washer is worth a try. The stain will probably be less prominent but may not be eliminated entirely.
