Does Smart Mop Really Work?

The Smart Mop is a mop made from synthetic shammy (chamois) material that is supposed to clean up liquids in seconds and hold 10 times its own weight in liquid. As seen on the TV infomercial with Anthony Sullivan, the Smart Mop quickly cleans soda, dirt, sand, dust, mustard, ketchup and pet hair from floors. The lift and twist action of the SmartMop prevents you from having to bend over and saves your back from strain and your hands from having to touch dirty water when wringing out the mop. The super absorbent Smart Mop is billed as a “no drip” mop as well. The mop heads are machine washable and are supposed to last 3 years. The Smart Mop claims it can replace your string mops and sponge mops and it works on tile and wood floors.
Smart Mop Reviews

Not a good product. Broke after three uses. Would not try again

Do not be taken in my the “SMART MOP’– there is absolutely nothing “smart” about it. On TV, the mop looks and acts great. The mop head unscrews, the fabric picks up nothing–a novel idea but a complete mess, and waste of money. I am going back to my LIBMAN mop.

I used this cheap mop for the first time last evening, and I would not recommend it to anyone. If I had purchased it locally, I would be returning it today. The only thing it does is hold water. I’m going back to my Libman mop.

Whatever you do dont get sucked in as I did, it doesnt work its like mopping with a q-tip its so small. Also when you go to ring it out it falls apart where it screws together. Another thing they make it sound like you pay 20.00 for 2 mops and some towels but you end up paying around 40.00 after double shipping and whatever else? After just mopping my floor I just had to stop and let you all know how it really is! Dont buy it, go to walmart and buy a 10.00 mop it will do a better job by far!

The mop head does NOT stay on the handle. The opening is much too large so it falls off ALL THE TIME. It even fell apart as I took it out of the box. I will not recommend this mop to anyone and will never purchase one again.

It just does’nt seem to do anything special that a normal mop does’nt.
As far as picking up liquids it works ok, then you wring it out and it seems to act just like a normal mop.
I will say that it does’nt drip when you pick it up, but you have to make several passes to pick something up all the way it seems.
I may be using it wrong though…
I bought one and got a second free, but in the order process got confused and somehow managed to order another pair. SO I have 4 of these things.
One of them the screw cap that holds the mop on the handle came undone by itself and had to be put back on.
The tubing itself is hollow and feels rather cheap, but it should do fine for a mop. However being that it is metal I would not set it outside to dry as you may forget about it when it rains.
