Does Smart Mop Really Work?
The Smart Mop is a mop made from synthetic shammy (chamois) material that is supposed to clean up liquids in seconds and hold 10 times its own weight in liquid. As seen on the TV infomercial with Anthony Sullivan, the Smart Mop quickly cleans soda, dirt, sand, dust, mustard, ketchup and pet hair from floors. The lift and twist action of the SmartMop prevents you from having to bend over and saves your back from strain and your hands from having to touch dirty water when wringing out the mop. The super absorbent Smart Mop is billed as a “no drip” mop as well. The mop heads are machine washable and are supposed to last 3 years. The Smart Mop claims it can replace your string mops and sponge mops and it works on tile and wood floors.

Smart Mop Reviews

Once you figure out how to screw on the mop it works fine. Have had 3 years, use every week, still good.

I had a chamois mop we used for many years in the past and was happy to find the Smart Mop online as a replacement. However, it was hard to figure out how to set up the mop head, which lasted only three weeks. I sent away for a set of replacement heads which arrived without directions for installation. When I called the customer service line, I found it is impossible to speak with a live person. For a $70 investment, (mop and mop heads, s&h), this is unconscionable. Save yourself the frustration and keep shopping…

Rotten. Rotten. Rotten! This thing does NOT pick up spills the way they showed on TV – instead you wind up just pushing the mess around on your floor.
The fabric is not really very absorbant at all and gets even worse after you run it through the washing machine.
Don’t waste a cent on buying it. If someone happens to give you one as a gift then smile, say thank you, and quietly try to return it to a store that doesn’t require receipts!

I bought my smart mop and when we got it out of the box it was broken!! I somehow taped it together to see if it would work but then the mop head fell off right away!!! We can’t figure out how to get it back on!!! This thing absolutely sucks!!! I am bringing it right back! It was a waste of my time and money!

The mop gets dirty pretty quick, I felt like I was constantly having to wash it. The fibers on the mop head retain an unfavorable stench even after washing a full cycle, so I finally just tossed it. According to the ad the mop and 3 Chamois I received would last me at least a year. First, the product is no where near Genuine Chamois Leather or even a close knock off. The fake chamois were junk after one use. I don’t know what it is made of but they are lying to us telling us it’s chamois. Ladies, if you can’t find that strange smell, sniff your mop, I bet you’ll find it! It worked good the first time when it was brand new, but once I started rinsing it, it was a hassle to use, getting all tangled up, and the screw on neck thing kept unscrewing no matter how tight I turned it, it starting stinking all the time, even after being washed. False advertising and junk product.

I would love this mop if it didn’t fall apart every time I tried to wring it out!! Mop head does NOT stay on….Horrible design. The fabric it is made of I really DO like….it rinses very clean very easily….but it is an exercise in FRUSTRATION to try to use this thing. Fell apart REPEATEDLY during first 30 minutes of use. Taking it back to Bed Bath and Beyond in the morning!!!

Do not be taken in my the “SMART MOP’– there is absolutely nothing “smart” about it. On TV, the mop looks and acts great. The mop head unscrews, the fabric picks up nothing–a novel idea but a complete mess, and waste of money. I am going back to my LIBMAN mop.
