Does Slap Chop Really Work?

Click for More Info About Slap ChopThe Slap Chop is a one of a kind kitchen device that manually chops by slapping the plunger. Each slap will activate 3 sharp blades to cut and chop the food. The more times you press the plunger, the finer the food gets. Use it for veggies, fruits, nuts and chocolate. With Slap Chop, you do not need to switch blades and your food will be ready to cook or serve in a few minutes. Mince garlic and dice onions minus the smell on your fingers. This device is dishwasher safe and the base can be easily opened for easy cleaning. The Slap Chop can be purchased online and measures 3.8” x 3.8” x 9.8” and weighs about .8 pound.

Smushes, doesn’t chop, and so cheaply made it breaks easy.

No - Slap Stuck

Carrots get stuck up in the blades, and peppers get chopped, but the skin stays on. This means you end up with a tough red or green skin with pepper mush on top. The “easy-to-clean” design is hard to open, and it’s almost impossible to get the carrot shards out afterwards. And no, I do not love Vince’s nuts. They do not chop even when you punch the top, and you just end up with two chopped afterwards. Very disappointed.

I happen to LOVE my “slap chop” for the reasons I use it for…It’s my “go to” item when I make homemade guacamole. I’m able to dice fresh garlic and red onions into little tiny bits (not mushy). However, it DOES “mush” the tomatoes, so I still dice those by hand. I’ve used it to chop sweet pickles for relish and horseradish for cocktail sauce. Is it an AMAZING “can’t live without” product? Well, no….but, I am quite fond of mine and would recommend it to a friend.

No - Slap Joke

I used this product for green peppers and onions. It smashed the peppers into the “blades” and mashed the onions. Forget trying to “Slap” it. I was near punching it! Such a joke. Glad a relative brought this for family use. I wouldn’t waste a penny on it!

No - Waste of space and money

As previously said, veggies are mostly smashed to a paste like texture rather than chopped. Also, once you push down on the top piece it just sticks there & you have to pull it back up. Impossible to do with two fingers as portrayed in the commercial.

No - Pretty useless

I got this as a gift and used it a few times. It tends to simply pulverize veggies rather than chopping them. Might be useful for onions in soups and sauces where the onions would be cooked into mush anyway.
