I did a LOT of research to find a machine that did NOT use cartridges. It was a toss up between a Pazzles and a Silhouette SD.

I found a great deal on the Silhouette and ordered it. SUCH a great decision.

The Silhouette (I named mine, Sadie!) machine is compact and very lightweight. It has a nice program that works with the machine, called Silhouette Studio. Every Tuesday there is a free design to download from their online store, and many half price designs you can buy for 50¢ each!

There are accessories for the Silhouette such as sketch pens, types of papers (heat transfer, vinyl, flocked vinyl, magnet paper, tattoo paper)...and the customer support is out of this world.

I am PROUD to be CARTRIDGE FREE!

You can cut any true type font which there are 1000s you can download for free. You can cut GSD files which again you can find 1000s for free. Print and cuts are great! I've also cut vinyl for my walls and made rhinestone shirts. Just wish I had more time to play.

There is a learning curve, but allows complete creativity. I especially like printing an image, coloring winch Copics and cutting a shape. So fun!

I love it for the print and cuts, and that i can make embellishments for my cards and scrapbook pages, not bothered about 12x12 as i do have another cutter for that size, software needs some updates but is still a nice thing to use.

I love my Silhouette SD, and especially love the ability to do spot on print and cut of just about any file I get get into the associated software. It's a great cutter. I just wish they'd come out with a larger version.

I love this machine - the automatic registration for PnC is awesome and works very well. I love it. The only negative is that is only cuts 8" wide, I wish it would cut 12" wide. Also the Silhouette Studio is functional but it needs a lot of work still.
