Does the Schticky Really Work?

Click for More Info About SchtickyThe Schticky is a re-usable lint roller that can be used on a variety of surfaces to clean many types of messes. This roller claims to be a great solution for quickly cleaning up lint, dust, dirt, and hair. The Schticky is supposedly made from a special silicone that gets slippery when wet but sticky when dry, making the roller easy to clean by rinsing it in water while maintaining the roller’s stickiness. Because it is re-usable, the Schticky can save up to $100 a year over paper-based lint rollers. The spokesman for the Schticky is Vince Offer, the pitchman best known for the ShamWow commercial. Also available is the “Little Schticky,” a small, portable version. The advertising claims Schticky is safe for all sorts of clothing fabrics from velvet to wool. The large version is the “Big Schticky,” designed for cleaning messes off of floors and carpets. The Big Schticky features a brush attachment that pulls up hairs deeply embedded in carpet fibers.

No - Hi-ho, Hi-ho it doesn't work you know

After 3 seconds of actual stickiness, you run to the sink and take 3 minutes to clean it with your fingers pulling hair off. Sure you can rinse it into the sink and then clog your drain with hair…or if you try cleaning it in a pail of water with detergent, it takes on water inside the cheap roller and gets your couch all wet! It really picks up a small amount of hair and then when you dry it it is less effective then the first swipe. This is going back. Unfortunately, with all my shipping fees I should only lose about $60 (I thought it was a great eco-idea and got some for my girls). That’ll teach me to watch late night t.v.!

No - It Sucks!

Bought the Schticky about one week ago and it looks like it’s been through hell and back with only a few washes. The sticky part is peeling off and it definitely doesn’t stick well after washing. The rug Schticky needs a longer stick and once again after rolling it one time, you need to wash it. So before you can even take one step with it, you’re making a u-turn to the sink to wash. Don’t waste your money. I’m sticking with the good old fashion lint roller. Good idea, too bad it sucks!

No - Not sticking after 3rd time.

I received the Schticky yesterday, and was very excited to see how great this thing works having a dog and two little kids. The first couple of tries were great using the longer roller on my rug and on my dog! But after the 3rd time I rinced the roller it is already not sticking.I even went to bed thinking maybe it was not dry enough and when I got up I went to go try it out and sure enough it’s not working and it’s totally lost the stickiness. Needless to say I wasted my money and will have to stick with the lint rollers!

Works well. picks up stuff off the carpet Inever knew existed in there. Great for pet hair and quickly cleaning messes on the floor. Con is it gets dirty very quickly so it needs to be rinsed often. Also, will likely clog up your drains so make sure you have a strainer of some sort.

Yes - Nearly perfect for Pet Hair

I have 2 black cats and a cream colored living room rug. No vacuum cleaner could get up the pet hair. The Schticky for rugs is fantastic! the grabber side lifts the hair out of the carpet and the schticky removes it. Two cons: the handle is too short so you are bending over at an awkward angle AND you’ll need to rinse and dry the schticky a few times to cover a 9 x 12′ rug. That said, I totally recommend it.

No - Doesn't work

This thing doesn’t work after 1 use. My husband cleaned the floor once, rinsed it, but roller never got sticky again. So we just go to use it once for over $20. If you want to save your money, don’t buy it.
