Bought my set in store on sale. Have had for 4-5 years, and if you keep knives vertical you can put them in dishwasher like DIRECTIONS say. I know how to sharpen knives so it's no big deal to me. A lot cheaper Then Cutco and other brands and still look new.

These knives are certainly worth the price. It clearly states not to place them in the dishwasher - you shouldn't do this with any quality knives. I handwash and dry my knives and I've never had one rust.

The handles are cheap. That's the only reason they don't get a 5. They do hold an edge, although admittedly not as well as expensive knives.

Ron Popiel has been known throughout the years as an inventor. He has created many innovative products starting with the Pocket Fisherman. But in the case of his "new" Six Star Knife set, he didn't invent or create anything. This is the exact same knife set that was hawked on TV many years ago by the host known as Chef Tony and sold under the name of Miracle Blade II. I know because I bought one of these sets and still have a few of the knives to prove it. As for the quality of the knives, not bad, not great. The handles are made of lightweight plastic but have an acceptable balance. Popiel claims the blades are sharp and never need to be resharpened. Well, that's not entirely true. Yes, they're sharp. All the knives have serrated edges so they fell sharp, but over time they start to get dull, as any other knife in the world. And because the edges are serrated they can't be easily resharpened.
All in all they're not a bad deal for the price, but certainly not "new" or "revolutionary". Just a new name put on an old product.

These knives are junk. Totally rust after one use. None of the knives are sharp, all are dull, maybe a good butter knife. I threw all of them in the trash, don't need anymore frustration. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Total waste of money, It's the worst set of knives I have ever seen, let them air-dry over night, the next day they were rusted.

These knives are not what is advertised. They are cheap and dull out of the box. I could not sharpen them with the sharpener that was free with the set. The scissors had a nice point and that is the best I can say for the set.

Some of these crappy knives rust after just one wash, others are all dull even though they are new. The blades bend very easily and feel very weak.

Save your money and get some good knives.

These knives needed sharpening out of the box. The steak knives are serrated but ok, and some of the others work, but basically you get a better result by spending your $$ on just a few quality knives. If you buy these, plan to spend money for knife sharpening or buy a good electric sharpener.

We got the knives, and after just 3 or 4 uses, went completely dull, and would not take another edge. It will be cheaper for us to throw these in the trash and buy a different set than it would be to participate in the grossly indecent sham they call a warranty. Even though I left my e-mail address, I lay even odds the people of Ronco will not contact me, and further, don't care.
They made their money suckering people, knowing that people will realize too late that they would be better off just trashing the knives. Ronco does not worry about losing knives/money, because the warranty is completely worthless. If there was a way of contacting all the people that were scammed by Ronco, I bet it would be very easy to start up a class action lawsuit. Last words...DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM RON POPEIL!!!
