My wife and I are in our late 70’s. We have had this device for several years and use it quite frequently. It always works for our satisfaction. I recently bought another one as our spare in case the current one breaks. I also sent it to my four sisters in their 80’s and they all love it.

I purchased the Robotwist from Publishing Clearance House and it worked good for the first three jars I opened, but when I tried to open a canning jar w/lid, it broke I feel the $19.95 mI spend was a waste.

Tapping the edge of a lid of any jar with the back of a carving knife works by breaking the crystallized components of the contents that were sealed while automated packaging machinery slopped while filling the jar. Very common occurrence. In combination, one can place lid under hot tap water, which slightly expands both metal and plastic lids. Using a cloth or rubber pad will assist in grip. If all that fails, buy a large adjustable pliers at your local hardware store; which doesn’t require batteries :-)
