Does Popeil Pocket Fisherman Really Work?
Carrying your normal fishing rod can be a bit cumbersome. But now with the Popeil Pocket Fisherman, you have a fishing rod that conveniently fits inside small spaces, they claim. This spin casting outfit is conveniently designed with a double flex rod that hinges into the closed position when stored away. To use it, you simply need to unfold it and it snaps into its fully extended position, they claim. Finally, they say, you can have a fishing rod that fits in your glove compartment or that can be attached to your belt. The Mini Tackle Box includes a hook, line, sinker and bobber inside the handle. The reel is also replaceable with a reel cartridge. Plus, while using your Popeil Pocket Fisherman, you are in control with its Automatic Anti-Reverse that prevents the handle from turning backwards, they say.
Popeil Pocket Fisherman Reviews

I live in the Foothills of Alberta. I have caught Rainbow, Cutthroat and Bull Trout using a spoon {Red Devil}. During a fight the arms come down, but with a flick of the wrist, you’re back in action. Casting is a practiced affair. I tend to fly fish, but when there is a large Bull trout, I pull out the PF. Mine is an older model (brown) and I keep rebuilding it. 70′s quality. If you can find one – get it…

My dad gave each of us one when they first came out for Christmas. There was 7 of us boys in the family. After seeing us use ours, dad even got one. Right now I am trying to find one for myself and my three sons. They are great for canoeing, camping, and backpacking. I saw my brother bring in a 31″ pike with his, and he had no trouble at all.

Yes it does work. I have landed large and small fish with it for years. It occasionally stops while casting usually because the bail clip after a few years bends. Re-bend it so it pushes the bail cover back up more and the casting is smooth again. You line will clear it. Your not getting record casts but it works pretty well for 20 bucks. It’s not a cotton cordell pole or a 200 real. So for what you pay its worth it for a trunk or bicycle pole.
Best used with waited clip on bobber and small slipt shot for bass and pan fish or a 1/4 oz clip on bell sinker and small treble hook for cats and carp.

you would be better off with a micky mouse pole from walmart. wont cast far if you can even get it to cast. bonus lures are cheap and wont attract fish…
