PlayOn Reviews
Editor’s Review
The PlayOn channel has really made my Roku box worthwhile! It features dozens of top television networks, most of which offer full episodes of their most popular programs. You can also stream video, music, and photos stored on your computer to your television set. The streaming video has played nearly flawlessly for me so far.
PlayOn can be used with several devices to stream Internet video to your TV set, these include Roku, Wii, Xbox, Playstation, and Google TV. The only two devices I have personally used with PlayOn are Roku and Wii.
The number of channels available on PlayOn Premium is excellent. These include the leading TV networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, CNN, Comedy Central and MTV. I don’t know why, but the content these networks offer on their PlayOn channels is better than what those same networks offer on their official Roku channels.
One major limitation of Roku is its lack of a YouTube channel. With PlayOn, however, you get a YouTube channel that works great.
You can get a free version of PlayOn that will give you the YouTube channel and let you stream content from your computer. PlayOn Premium gives you access to all their channels. The cost of PlayOn Premium is very reasonable when compared to other streaming video services. They even offer PlayOn Premium with a 30 day money back guarantee so that you can find out for yourself if it is really worth the money.
The only limitation of PlayOn (at least for those who use it with Roku) is that your computer needs to be on for you to access their channels.
