Does Lauren Hutton Face Disc Really Work?

Lauren Hutton likes to call the Face Disc her best invention yet. In one compact disc, all the makeup colors and choices you need can be had, and each color has a colored ring around it to indicate which makeup brush that comes in a seven-brush kit should be used with it. This is a product for women who are always on the go, they say. With the Lauren Hutton Face Disc, there is no need to worry about taking a lot of time getting your face together because according to them, it can be done in just 15 minutes. This is also appropriate, they say, for women who don’t like to look like they are overly made up. The entire kit comes with the palette disc, a set of seven brushes, an instructional video, and a fold out brochure, the latter two of which include makeup tips that Hutton has learned through the years, they claim. The Lauren Hutton Face Disc is available for skin tones that are pinkish, yellow, olive and brown.

I’m 46 years old and have been using Lauren’s face disk since my late 30’s. In my opinion, Lauren’s face disk was the first original Naked Palette. It’s just plain brilliant, very affordable and her instructions are as important/valuable as the disk itself. I hope never to be without it. Of all the high end cosmetics I had to choose from on my daughter’s wedding day, Lauren’s face disk was the makeup I reached for that day. The woman definatly knows makeup.

No - Very Expensive shadowing

I was extremely disappointed when I received my disk. I thought I was ordering make-up, meaning foundation. What I received instead was several small circles of varying colors and uses of shading or contouring. Shading for the nose, shading for under the chin, shading for anything on your face you don’t want to bring out. The techniques used are for print models and not the everyday woman. Aside from the ‘make-up’ being primarily used for contouring, all the colors are the 1980’s browns. The disk did not have the decency to include foundation….all for $80.00. I don’t know how Lauren sleeps at night.
