Does Knifty Knitter Really Work?

Knitting is fast, easy and fun with the Knifty Knitter, they say. For people who can’t knit, it is easy to learn, and even a left handed person can do it. The Knifty Knitter is also great for people with arthritis and carpal tunnel, they say. They claim that you will have a new experience in knitting with this product. The Knifty Knitter makes use of looms in different sizes and shapes plus a hook tool–in place of knitting needles. With Knifty Knitter you can create original products with your personal touch such as hats, scarves, gloves, blankets, gifts and crafts. They note that with Knifty Knitter, you have the opportunity to truly personalize and accessorize your wardrobe, and even give truly original gifts to others. Knifty Knitter can be used by all ages, and anyone can have the experience of creativity with this. The entire Knifty Knitter kit includes a flower loom, a 7.5 inch red round loom, a 9.5 inch green round loom, a 10 inch pink long loom, a finishing needle, a knitting hook tool, a project booklet, and a free project DVD, they say.

Knifty Knitter Reviews

Yes - Addictive Fun

The original knifty knitters are a great tool to learn how to knit items quickly. Be warned, though. It becomes a bit addictive to knit and collect even more looms to have multiple projects going on.

Great to use for knitting chemo caps, preemie hats, and blankets for those you care for or wish to help.

Yes - Knitting for Needle Challenged
5 stars5 stars5 stars5 stars5 stars

I have made countless hats, scarves, and afghans. With the books and videos that are available, the possibilities are virtually endless.
Now for the downer. The original Provo Craft sets have been discontinued. There are other brands now available, but have garnered mixed reviews. The Boye pegs have been described as not being very user friendly, and the Martha Stewart ones, though very versatile in its ability to be configured differently, have small knobs which allow the yarn to slip off if not careful.

In my personal opinion, the original Knifty Knitter sets are the best. They are hard to find and can be expensive now, but still well worth the money.

No - You will discard once you learn on real needles

These are ok for beginners and kids to foster an INTEREST in knitting. It’s SO worth it to just learn to knit on real needles. Once you get past the initial learning curve, needles allow SO much more flexibility and freedom and they are much faster!

Easy to use and addicting. I had tried once before to learn knitting with very unsucessful results. I can now crank out lots of scarves and hats. I have made several as gifts and people just love them.

The perfect thing for beginning knitters. Be careful though, they are addicting. You will be looking for reasons to knit things.

Yes - This one's a KEEPER!

These little things worked centuries ago when they were home-made out of wooden spools with nails driven into them, and they work wonderfully now in plastic versions of all sizes!

Sure, a talented knitter can do a zillion times more things with a pair of real knitting needles – but what about the rest of us? These Knifty Knitters are great for average folks with more interest than skill.

The immovable pegs keep each row of stitches even and consistant, which is the most difficult aspect of traditional knitting. Simple projects, like a hat, can be done very quickly and easily – even by kids!

Yes - Does the trick

These definitely work, and are worth the investment if you feel it’s the right product for you. They come with an instruction book that is fairly self-explanatory, and you can You Tube ‘Knifty Knitter’ or ‘loom knitting’ if you want to see how it’s done. I used these for a while, but felt a little restricted because you can’t really change how ‘tight’ the knit is. I learned how to knit with needles, and enjoy that much more. But when I was intimidated by knitting, this was just the right thing.

I make hats for the homeless on these
and just love them. They are very easy to use. You can make Hats and Scarfs very easy. I have not attempted to make anything other then that on mine. I have all the different sizes but did not get the video. Great for gifts for those people that appreciate home made gifts from people.
