This flashlight has a solar panel of photovoltaic cells that function whether with solar or room light, and are sufficient to empower its 1 watt LED bulb. With eight hours of solar light, this flashlight can function for a total of 10 hours. A lithium backup battery then takes over to generate an additional 50 hours of light. The bulb is said to work for 11 years and the lithium backup battery will hold for up to 7 years. The Hybrid Solar Lite is also highly tolerant of extreme temperatures of heat or cold. It is also waterproof in up to 80 feet of water and floats, making it perfectly suitable for use with bloaters.
