Does Guardian Alert 911 Really Work?

Guardian Alert 911 claims to be a personal emergency response system that allows you to call “911” in an emergency (accident, fall, illness, or danger) when you are alone at home. With this product you can speak directly to a 911 operator 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they claim. This is done, they say, just by pushing a button on your device. You can immediately talk to a 911 operator, explain your exact emergency, and give the location of your home. They claim that you will talk directly to an emergency operator–not a call center. They add that Guardian Alert 911 requires no monthly subscription or service fee. The product works like a cordless phone on any standard phone line, except that the single button is programmed to dial 911 when pushed, they say. Guardian Alert 911 is worn around the neck, or can be clipped on a belt, or carried in a pocket. If accidentally splashed with water it will continue to function, however it is not waterproof.
