Does Electrolysis Really Work?

Electrolysis is a way of removing unwanted body hair from an individual’s body. This aims to destroy the root of the hair with the use of chemicals of heat. Electrolysis is intended as a means to safely remove hair from the face, eyebrows, thighs, breasts and legs. Advocates of Electrolysis say there have been no known side effects for individuals who have undergone this procedure. Minutes after the procedure, the skin may slightly redden but, supposedly, this redness will disappear after a few minutes. No harsh chemicals are used in this process. Electrolysis is touted as being clinically proven to be one of the safest and most effective methods in removing hair.

No - Hair grew back

I spent two years, lots of money and pain. Everything always grew back. It took longer to grow back, but it always did. I had expected by the 2 year time that my fine blonde hair (natural blonde with fair skin & blue eyes) that the bikini-line would be permanently gone.

My first person retired, and I went to another lady, but it was never permanently gone so I quit.

I have tried many ways to get the horrible thick hairs off my chin. Tweezing left bumps and painful ingrown hairs. Shaving leaves a 5 o’clock shadow and I am a woman so that is NOT acceptable. Tried expensive laser and hair grew back after I stopped even thicker. I used to tweeze every day, now I can go almost 2 weeks without even seeing a hair. Not as expensive as laser, more expensive than tweezers but worth it to me. I go every two weeks and rarely do I have to shave anymore. Will it last forever? Don’t know. Way better than the other solutions!

Works at first, but the hair does grow back. I had it done on my eyebrows, upper lip and chin. On my lip, it grew back lighter. I went for several years and spent a fortune. I’m now doing laser hair removal and that is wonderful!

Worth every penny…ok lots of dollars! You have to keep getting it done at first to get all the hair in all the stages. I am down to touch ups about once a year now. Love not having to shave. BTW I have had every area with hair done on my body and the small amount of pain is worth the results.

I spent thousands of dollars on electrolysis – and it made a temporary change to hair but once it was stopped the hair grew back thicker than ever.

Yes - Expensive but worth it

Very expensive but worth it for permanent hair removal. I had hair on my face removed and some areas hurt more than others (upper and lower lip especially so). There was some reddening for about an hour after each session but I would carry cotton balls and a bottle of witch hazel to apply on the drive home and that really helped sooth the irritated skin.
