Does Eggies Really Work?

Cooking is an experience that is different for everyone. People’s preferences of food vary when it comes to culinary tastes. However, there’s still food that remains a constant choice every time. Eggs, for example, never go out of style. Peeling the shells can be quite a task though, especially when it comes to hard boiled eggs. Thus, it was the concept behind the Eggies system, a convenient way of cooking eggs without having to peel the shell. Using the Eggies system requires cracking the egg and pouring it in the custom-designed Eggies cup, then letting it boil and twisting it open once cooked. The Eggies system also comes with egg slicers for making creative designs for hardboiled egg. The Eggies system is popular among stay-at-home moms, grandparents and people on the go.

Eggies Reviews

No - Worthless

My wife bought this product recently thinking that it was going to be a useful tool for cooking eggs. Boy, were we wrong. It was more work that we expected. The plastic Eggie holders came apart during the cooking process, making things messy. I DO NOT LIKE THAT! more wasted time. I give this product a big fat ZERO.

They are not worth the money. They open up in the water.

No - Not all they're cracked up to be.

Absolute rubbish. Mine went back after 3 uses.
17 minutes for a hard-boiled mess!! These things come as 4 pieces each and are hard to put together. As they warm up in the boiling water they leak and the egg runs out. Even if you thoroughly oil each piece the eggs stick and clean up of 6 takes about 15 minutes with a brush. Stick to the old fashioned but time proven way

No - Waste of $

This product does not work at all, even if you follow the directions to the letter. I tried them twice. The 1st time, I used cooking spray to grease it. A few of the containers would not fit together properly so some egg came out in the water. The rest seemed to boil OK, but when I tried to take them apart, the egg stuck inside the two pieces. Using oil inside the eggie had the same result. No matter what I did(and I used 8-10 eggs each time to see if any of them would work), they would not come out whole. I would never recommend this product to anyone, and in fact have told people not to buy it. As a side note, even if it had worked so that they came out whole, they would never work for making develled eggs since the yolk floats to the top while it is boiling. Don’t waste your money on this. Returning it cost just as much as the product so you can’t even get your $ back.

Yes - Worked as designed

I found that you must have the eggie shells tightly closed….any leak of water causes a bit of a mess. But overall it worked as designed.

Tried just once – eggs overflowed while cooking and made a complete mess. Not sure its worth the clean up effort.

You must follow direcions to the letter. Don’t forget to oil!! Follow cooking directions. Small eggs for me work better then large. Yolk doesn’t center. Buy at own risk.

Well I bought them from the Seen on TV store so I was able to get 6 instead of twelve. I like the product overall. If one follows the directions the eggs do become hard boiled. I found that the Eggies themselves are for LARGE eggs, so the eggs that I used were only the size fill half the container. Not a big deal. I put them in the fridge after for more than an hour and YEP I had a hard boiled CONE of an EGG. I would recommend this product to my family….wait I just did.
