Does Debbie Meyer Green Bags Really Work?
With the Debbie Meyer Green Bags they claim that fruit and vegetable life can be prolonged by as long as 10 days. Even flowers stay fresher, longer with Debbie Meyer Green Bags, they claim. These food storage bags are useful also for cut flowers and herbs by preventing excess moisture buildup and they also help to reduce vitamin loss by 50%. The bags are reusable 10 times each. With the Debbie Meyer Green Bags there is no need to make use of chemicals on homegrown fruits and veggies. How do the Green Bags work? Fruits, vegetables and flowers normally release ethylene gas while ripening after harvesting and picking. This same gas accelerates ripening and spoilage. But the Debbie Meyer Green Bags claim that they absorb and remove this damaging gas. That is how it works, they say.
Debbie Meyer Green Bags Reviews

I did NOT obtain the results promised, even with faithful following of directions, including removal of accumulated moisture.
These “special” bags performed no better than ordinary plastic bags.
Don’t waste your time or money on these, and don’t buy more fresh produce than you reasonably expect to use or freeze within its normal shelf life.

I have tried these bags on all kinds of fruits and vegetables…all with no success. I have tried wrapping items in paper towels..waste of time and money.

I love this for brocolli, califlower, and iceburg lettuce. It didn’t work for strawberries, bananas, and green beans for me. I was always losing vegetables and so I wouldn’t buy them. But these have changed how I eat. I think you need to experiment with different foods. It definitely kept the first three items I listed fresh for a least two weeks. Make sure you follow the instructions. Things need to be DRY when you store them. I love them!!!!

The trick to using these successfully is to wrap the item(s) in paper towels to absorb the moisture that accumulates BEFORE putting the item in the bag. I’ve kept cucumbers in this manner for more than 3 weeks and they were as fresh as the day I bought them! I’ve not found them great for room temp veggies/fruits such as bananas or fresh pineapple, but anything that is stored in the fridge will
last much longer as long as you use paper towels first. I couldn’t live without these bags!

I just got these a couple of weeks ago and have been very impressed with how well they work for Bananas. I love bananas but always end up throwing 2-3 of them out because I don’t like when they go brown. After 5 days in these bags they had no brown spots on them at all. I haven’t tried on other fruit or vegetables yet but for their low price they are worth it just for bananas for me.

Does not work at all. Food gets a slime on it.

I have tried these a few times and did not find them any better than any other bag. I used them for banannas and while they may not turn brown as quickly they do get mushy inside. I found that moisture tends to accumulate quicker in these bags.
