Does Black Cat Cougar Really Work?
The Black Cat Cougar is the die cutting machine designed to be simple enough for the hobbyist crafter or scrapbooker while still being sturdy enough for the professional. This die cutting machine will cut letters, numbers, images, and shapes as well as more advanced designs. Customers receive a software program to begin cutting right away, and they may use popular design software such as Make the Cut (MTC) or Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL). A wide variety of materials may be cut, such as parchment, card stock, vellum, foil, self-adhesive rubber, static cling vinyl, felt, fabric, leather, and many more. Made of composite aluminum and plastic, the Black Cat Cougar can handle tough jobs and its 950g of pressure allows it to cut through thicker material. The cutter can slow down to a 1mm a second speed to execute very precise cuts. The Black Cat Cougar cutter comes in 13, 15, 18, & 24 inch models.

I am a previous Craft Robo owner and was blown away by the difference between the two machines. I own a 13″ Cougar. The manuals and other documentation are first rate, the supplier’s customer support deserves countless supperlatives and the user forum is supportive, friendly and the experts are always ready to help new owners.

I have had an 18″ Cougar for about 8 months. I bought it because it worked with software that let me create my own items, I wasn’t limited to cartridges. I also wanted the ability to cut bigger than 12″, to emboss, to use any pen or marker, to engrave on acrylic and metal, and cut heavy chipboard. My machine can do all of these things and more (with some accessories needed). It cuts very tiny intricate details great and can also be used for print and cuts. The customer support from before and after the sale has been awesome, 2nd to none. Once you have tried the rest, try the best!

Yes, i sell them. I used to sell the KNK and Pazzle Inspiration. I have used every cutter currently on the market. I can attest to the fact that I am not biased in my recommendation of this machine..it has been proven. I have it sitting beside our competitor’s machine. They say it is manufactured in the same plant so it is the same machine…we know better and our customers are proving it every day!

I’ve only just gotten my Cougar about 3 weeks ago, I love it, absolutely love it. Print & Cut ability is absolutely brilliant, the assistance and friendliness on the forum is unbelievable, there is no abusiveness, Dawn delivers the best service I’ve ever seen offered anywhere, before, during & after purchasing! The Cats are an amazing die cutter, the quality of the machine is well worth the price to me!

I’ve had my cougar for over a year and a half. I searched and researched all the machines at the time. For the price and the pressure and accuracy, this machine was made to do what I had in mind. With so many free SVG files and the free Inkscape version to make my own – There were just so many options. Sherri from the US and Dawn from the UK, And Karin from Austrailia, give service beyond compare. It isn’t that I’ve had trouble, just needed reminders about how to do something, or direction on “how to” do something new. You will not find a cutter that lasts either. When Dawn helped with the specifications of this machine – they were carried out and tested in great detail. Not saying anything about the other machine that “claims” to be the same, but it is not. Actually this machine has lived beyond what has been promised. There are so many happy users and it is a “family” feeling to be among them. I too only wish I could have purchased a larger machine. Did they tall you if you want to trade up – they will let you! I’m saving for that day! You won’t be sorry with this machine!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Cougar. I have the 24″ Cougar because I never wanted to have to upgrade again. I love this machine…it can do everything I ever wanted and more, except my dishes and laundry. I have found even more creative things to do, like etching, that I never would have considered before. This machine was made to last. I am amazed at the accuracy of the Print and Cut, the intricacies of the details that the Cougar can do, even on a very small item. Customer Service? THE BEST..24/7 and they treat you like they would if you were their best friend. The Cougar team is awesome.

The title says it all. Plus great customer service. It is funny, when people get these machines there are 2 things they want to do. Print and Cut, and see how small they can cut. Well one girl just posted leaves with center cuts, that 2 of them fit on a dime with room to spare. There is another machine on the market that boasts they are identical machines. But they aren’t. I am not downing the other machine, I have never used one, but the Black Cat line out shines them all. You can use various software, such as Inkscape and Signcut, Sure Cuts A Lot or Make the Cut. Customer service. How many companies do you know that keep a computer by their bed to help people in the middle of the night. Betcha you don’t know any. And the forums, can’t be beat. Everyone on both the Black Cat US forum http://www.blackcatus.com and the UK forum helps one another with out any drama, or hate. Now what can this machine do. Well it can cut 3mm chipboard, it engraves metal, It can cut over 300 snowflakes without skipping a beat. Yes it is a bit more expensive than other machines, but it is made to last. My only downer is I didn’t buy bigger.
