I had high hopes for this foundation, thinking that it might look great without making anything worse. The directions suggested using moisturizer prior to application on dry skin, but that only acted as a glue to hold powder on top of any previously unnoticed flakes -- and wasn't pretty, to say the least. They found the right tone for my skin and applied it so I could see if I liked it. Sold! I have red areas in my face and occasional pimples and small scabs which it covers almost completely yet looks so natural. I also have a ton of freckles which it tones down but does not get rid of, which I feel still keeps me looking like me. It does not create acne. I can't say enough good things about bare minerals. I have olive skin and BareMinerals works for me. If feels light on my skin, covers imperfections, makes my skin look even-toned, gives no appearance that I'm wearing make up and causes no breakouts. I recommend using a primer, but you don't have to. The key is to use very little! It looks cakey if you use too much. It seems like it won't be enough, but it is. You can always add if you need to. I can't use this product as a powder, but it works great mixed into my moisturizer. Makes my skin look dewy. Using the foundation this way, one of the big containers lasts over 6 months. I applied it with a makeup brush and sponge & neither type of application helped. It'll work as a spot concealer with moisturizer first and powdering the "spot" on top of the moisturizer. Their lightest tone was much too dark for my skin. nothing against the effectiveness of the product, just not for fellow light skinned ladies like me. I have sensitive skin specially around the eyes & have combination skin - although a bit more dry now in my middle years and this product works great. When you ware it makes your skin satiny smooth & even tone and gives a nice glow to the skin. It is very light. I really recommend this product to everyone. I agree with all the other reviews.
