Does Aqua Rug Really Work?

A well-maintained home can be easily spotted by just one look at the bathroom. It has to be well-equipped with safety items such as bath mats. Not only does a bath mat keep family members safe from slipping in the tub, it also prevents water damage in the bathroom floor. Aqua Rug is a brand of bath mat that offers these functions plus other additional features. This product promises to stay in place even without the use of suction cups with its non-slip backing design. It claims to be resistant to stains and fading because of its compression-proof fiber material, which is said to also make the Aqua Rug water absorbent but easy to dry. These features of the Aqua Rug supposedly make it ideal for both children and adults.

Aqua Rug Reviews

Yes - Aqua rug bath mat works but it could be better

My review and impression of the Aqua rug is mixed. The product works pretty good. We’ve had it for a few months now and it has yet to develop any mold or mildew stains. It has slightly discolored but it’s my belief this was/is due to and because of all the different soaps, body washes, shampoos and conditioners that are used.

But the main issue I have is that the suction cups don’t really work that well. I mean, it doesn’t move on its own. But, because our tub, as with most tubs, is curved where it meets the tub walls, and because the width, or edges of the Aqua rug is pretty much right where the tub floor and walls meet, if or when we step there, the rug moves. So, for any seniors, please be advised and be careful.

I would also add that for your feet, it’s no big deal. But should you take a bath it can be a bit textured on the rump. And should you have to kneel in the tub for anything, like when giving the dog a bath, it can down right hurt. It did mine when I gave the dog a bath. In fact, when I was done and stood up the Aqua rug had left imprint marks on my knees. DOH!

That said, II would still recommend the Aqua rug. Other then to or for anyone with a stability issue. Because it does or can still move. We have tried all the other anti-slip options for the tub. Those sticker types never stick for very long. Even when you follow the instructions and make sure the tub floor is clean and you’ve used rubbing alcohol.

Another bonus to the Aqua rug is it helps trap hair so it doesn’t all go to the drain. But that does require it to be cleaned every month. Just to keep it from getting too much hair over time.

It has kept my Mom from falling but they have black all under them after 2 days in a shower. Washing does not help.

I was very disappointed and am returning this product. It is meant to be non slip and secure. I have balance problems so safety is important. With only 4 suction cups it does not sit flat on the shower base so could trip me. Not good enough

I purchased the Aqua Rug and I am enjoying it. It works well to clean my feet and soften my rought heels. The suction cups do not stick well, but […] It feels great under tired feet, beats the hard shower floor. Rinses easily and no staining. I recommend the product.
